Riverside garden, Vang Vieng, Laos Photo

Photographer’s Note

I nearly passed right by this view to a little riverside garden in Vang Vieng, Laos. I was walking along a narrow dirt road just north of the town market. The view across the river was mostly obscured with trees and other overgrown vegetation. But at this one clearing I stopped to look and saw this quaint and well tended garden. Shooting it was a little difficult due to the palm tree in the foreground, but I made it work by using the tree to frame the scene.

This kind of view is very typical of what you'll see in Vang Vieng, one of my favorite little towns in southeast Asia.

Quelle vision paradisiaque, c'est vrai qu'il n'y a pas à se demander longtemps de quel continent ce cliché provient, il est assez typique de l'Asie.
En tout cas bonne profondeur de champ, très bonne exposition, le paysage aurait sans doute mérité d'être un poil plus précis, mais ça reste une photo bien construite, et c'est un bien beau résultat ma foi.

Beautiful river side shot. Love the angle where you put in part of the coconut leaves to create a "frame" effect. Well composed and sharply executed.

Beautiful landscape, I like the warm light.
For me the palm tree is really welcome, good composition.

Thst is bringing a little corner of Laos so well, I can tell you some of us would love to stop looking and just enter in the frame....Glad you stopped.
