Snapping the snappers:
Incoherent rambling of would be LP snappers! Locking the focus on those happy triggers at work who probably want the perfect memory was great fun indeed to say the least and in the real world to chuckle at. I used this opportunity to grab those moments of the artists in action to provide a nice counterpoint.
As evening approaches, one popular activity for visitors to Luang Prabang is to climb around 300 steps to the top of Mount Phu Si - the best vantage point to watch the amazing sunset over the town and the Mekong. It can be pretty crowded up there but it's pleasant and fun nonetheless. There are also great views on the other side of the hill, overlooking the Nam Khan River and out into the verdant and vast Lao jungle. The sunsets here, like so much of Southeast Asia, can be very spectacular notable for its romantic and magical appeal if the weather is right.

WS2 More snappers at work!
What excuses are there to not make the exhausting climb to the top for a view of once in a lifetime experience...

Je comprends pourquoi il y a autant de gens avec des caméras devant un aussi beau spectacle.J'aime la composition qui inclut des gens dans un coucher de soleil.

Another wonderful shot with a different taste on contrast to ur previous post.sky color is very mild and sweet.the silhouettes of the photographers matched very well along the lower backdrop.

Shot of shots! It is really a shot of the perfect moment when the subject of your subjects is just going to hide itself. How tantalizing!
You have wonderfully demonstrated how a sunset scene can be uplifted to another level by changing the perspective. Thanks a lot.
With warm regards,

the title could be alo as sunset
but you captured this idea in
a different way contrasting
the black figures towards the
snappers been snapped when
catching the last lights
during the end of the day

Funny scene, I like this kind of moments. I have a similar one in Barcelona at the fountains...
Have a good day ahead!

I see it wasn´t easy to get the opportunity to take a picture there:)?I had the same problems on Santorini last year.
But you were able to turn this "obstacle" to the biggest advantage of your composition as the people in the shot add really a lot of character and unique mood to the scene. And the spectacle on the sky looks magnificent! Was definitely worth!

I love this amusing photo with its great colours. This is a fine illustration of tourism, everyone gathering at the same place to take the same picture. I don't blame anyone for wanting a photo of this spectacular sunset, but this kind of crowd looks a bit funny.
I was at the top of this hill late one evening along with a local crowd to watch the Pathet Lao guerilla bomb the nearby airport, and the government's planes taking off to bomb the guerilla, setting off flares of lights over the hills. This was in early 1973 and a low-key war was still going on.

Often time in tourist destination, people take sunset pictures crazily just like that.
On your picture, the orange color of sunset is gorgeous.

I also like to take pictures of photographers taking pictures and there's a lot of them in Las Vegas. Awesome capture of those people recording a beautiful sunset. Love the colors. Well done, tfs.

Lovely sun set photo once again. I like the inclusion of the viewers in silhouette, it is making the virtual viewer feel like a real viewer. The colors of dusk are magical and that just a little bit of that orange ball is fantastic. Excellent photography. Thanks for sharing.

josepmarin (57065) 2014-01-10 5:20
a nice and funny composition, here.
I admire how you catch these photographers in action, emphasizing their passion, while the sun is setting behind the silhouettes of the mountains, creating a very special atmosphere.
The shot is fresh and vital, you have done a great work.
mkamionka (28031) 2014-01-10 5:58
very nice idea to use the photographers as silhouettes set against this spectacular sky. The colors are amazing with a nice gradient of tones.
Have a great weekend,
ourania (21414) 2014-01-11 6:40
I like very much how the warm tones look so dark, dense and intimate. I feel that the crowd of people were silent in awe of the lovely and suggestive moment. The photographer who has risen above the others is well placed in the frame and his interaction with the rapidly vanishing sun is captivating. His eagerness to capture the scene is apparent and I hope he didn't miss the magic while trying to keep his balance and adjust his settings:) I love the atmosphere of your sunset picture in the workshop as well as the elegant silhouettes in your third picture. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely weekend,
nikkitta (10418) 2014-01-11 12:14
After watching the WS I understand the crowd waiting for the sun, the place seems better than a fairy tale ilustration
You get it and also this creative one, photo of photographers black silhouettes with creative contrast
No excuses because at the end of the early clim an impresive nature spectacle is going to began
Well done, congrats

A really different take from what so many others here would be interested in photographing, and no doubt more successful. I love the colours and sillhouettes and the idea of people climbing over the top of one another to get that elusive money-shot. Your photo makes me think about many issues we see today: at what point to we stop observing through a view-finder and enjoy the moment?; in order to enjoy that special fleeting spiritual moment, who have we trampled over to get it and at what personal cost?; the fact that cameras are accessible to everyone, can we ever get that unique shot that we all crave? What actually do I do to the guy who's just elbowed me aside to get his photo and continues to block everyone else's view, without getting arrested? Exactly what I'd be thinking of that guy on top of everyone ;) Your photo is thought provoking. Superb job dear friend, thanks for sharing.
adidas5nb (3945) 2014-01-15 3:54
great moment captured.people do get carried away by sunsets and sunrises and this shot is a perfect example.like your thought the timing and the pov.
Waylim (24338) 2014-01-17 17:39
This is funny, I was in the same situation in Huang Shan in China arriving a little late for sunrise spot, and the whole place were taken and I was back there looking at heads. You have the good sense to make a humorous shot out of this one. My kudos to you for your spirit.
