She ain't heavy...., a photo from Vientiane, North

Photographer's Note

This is another shot, one of my favorites to imply motion, a feeling of movement and velocity. The relatively straight trajectory allows me to predict when to release the shutter and the effect that I want, and I go for 1/4sec. A wonderful slice of life and energy as they add a local flavour to a different way of life.

Image was taken in the late afternoon at Ban Namoung, a charming remote village nestled between Nam Song river and mountain karsts about 20km west of Vang Vieng. I adored the natural beauty and have such fond memories of this fascinating place, a true feeling that I have gone beyond the norm and discovered the uniqueness of Laos.

Hello Abmdsudi,
This is a beautiful artistic image. I like the activity which is enhanced by the slow shutter speed and the panning. In an image like this one does not need detail. It is about colour and movement and impressionism. The girl's pink dress fits extremely well with the rest of the image and accentuates the centre of interest. The figure of the man also is very striking, as is that of the cart, all working together in this fabulous view of daily life. The colour of the FG also is very attractive. Not sure that I would not have cropped a little of the FG off, but it is neither here nor there. I wish I were the artist. Very well done!!!

Not an easy shot indeed
Panning is always somewhat tricky but the sense of motion is well conveyed here
The image looks like the panning was done when the kids were moving to the left and you moving to the right. Is that true or you were at rest and it's simply an optical effect ?

the panning effect is excellent, with splendid colors,I particularly like the pink dress of the girl, catching the eyes being the only vivid color.I don't know how you have get this effect, as the movement seems to go in the opposite direction than the children and their carriage.This is superb!

da queste foto c'è molto da imparare, perché l'effetto ottenuto è molto bello e rende benissimo il senso della velocità.
Ma è molto bella anche la gestualità del ragazzo che spinge il carretto con la ragazza dall'abito rosa.
Un'immagine complessivamente molto attraente e ben concepita.

a wonderful impression of movement which also manages to offer a superbly clear idea of the anbience, the cart, the children, shapes, space, colours. Fleeting movement and fleeting time in a beautiful capture. You're capturing well this scene by a good composition, so it's impressive to see an action scene kids in daily life. It is described well as a dynamic effect for the spectacle of the girl who wore the red clothes which rode on the loading platform, and the boy who pushes it. It's interesting in brown ground, too.

Great shot, I love the sens of motion here and good title, since most children in Laos are not heavy :)

Though people call me fat when I was little because of my baby fat and round face. Only if they can see me now. I use to have fun with this card too, puching my younger brother just to have some fun, since we had no toys. Thanks for the memories.

Best friend in future have to you try a sharp image alone of the subject and the background blurred, now is it subject also little bit unsharp.
But I like absolutely of this experimental image

An artistic image. Some people like this
kind of pictures for other people it's
"to much art". What I like is that you
are creative during the shooting and
not with the pc.
(An famous Dutch Photographer Ruben
Smit(works for magazines like National
Geographic) makes this kind of pictures,
but with another subjects.
Composition and light management are
as always great.

this is an effect I havn't even come close to perfecting! especially the panning effect.

I like that the subjects are in movement and are blurred.
