Street market, a photo from Louangphabang, North

Photographer's Note

Most days of the week a market takes over some streets near the centre of Luang Prabang to become a true "street" market. The emphahis in this market is on fresh food, in this scene fruit and vegetables but elsewhere are plenty of local fresh water fish, meats and local delicacies such as frogs, rats and small birds.
The flesh of rats, incidentally looks just like rabbit in colour. I didn't get to try it partly because it wasn't offered but I did try a local frog dish which uses all the frog and not just frogs legs like in Europe - very tasty.

Hello Ian!

I think it was Laos, but I recall one market where it had a sign up 'Bear Paws' for sale. I recall thinking, 'poor bears'! Anyway good sharpness & perspective that add deep lead in lines into the market. Good saturated colours & excellent framing. Tfs!
