Out from Luang Prabang is a magical multi level waterfall, Tat Kuang Si. The drops are very small down the bottom but have several levels close together - a dream for photography if the light is OK. Fortunately I had my tripod with me.
The light was filtering through the rainforest canopy giving a good effect on the water with its intriguing shade of blue (from minerals in the water, I guess).
The pools are supposed to be popular for swimming but most people I saw didn't stay in for long.

You've got some great shots from your recent trip! Mine's not quite so exotic, especially as it's rather wintry.
This one with its slow shutter speed and good DOF really captures the tropical light well, and makes the water slightly milky but not too much. Well worth carrying a tripod for this type of shot, producing excellent sharpness. The water certainly is an unusual but very attractive colour. It's a beautiful spot in the forest.

une tres belle photo avec un filé d'eau bien realisé qui fait ressortir les couleurs bleu/vert...
dans le meme style que Agua azul au Mexique ...

An excellent photo. The whole scene has a very mystical feel about it. The filtered light through the rainforest is giving the milky water a special colour. It was worth taking your tripod just for this photo. Cheers, Marlene

One of the best shots of this place that I have seen in a while. Love the smooth and soft texture of the charming and inviting water falls.
Great quality and beautiful composition and rich color and tone. This image makes me miss home.
Thanks for sharing.

Love the slightly long exposure and the superb colours of the water. This place is beautiful, very untouched and wild. I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and wish you and the family health, happiness and lots of travel in 2012.

A beautiful picture with a lots of elements in
It's rough (waterfall), but also gentle soft
(longer exposer). Its has a nice depth and it's
also nice calmness (great composition and taken
from a great point of view).
The light management is also great: no hard
shadows and overlighted pieces in the picture
and the colors are very nice.....Great work.
Friendly regards and have a happy 2012,
