[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The morning collection of the Wat Xieng Thong monks is a daily routine. At the first break of light, the monks lined up on the street and begin their procession. After the collection, they would have their breakfast and then later around 1PM, their lunch. They will then fast until the next morning. That would explain why they are so early for the collection.

===============================

It seems that everyone here has covered the collection from every angles: from the gutter to the eagle eye, you had left me with no choice but to buy the whole basket of food from the vendor and start giving away to get this viewpoint. :D

Nice shot, Thien, and a unique perspective that you've captured. The repetition, especially of the giving hand in teh back, makes it look like the line goes on forever. While I like this view, I wonder if you have any taken from the other side, so we could see into the container.

I was surprised of this POV, with the given currency or foods hidden. To me, the composition is close to what it had been said in the Holy Bible, "If you do a good thing by right hand, don't let your left hand know".

Hi Thien. Good take on alms, which has been well covered, of course. For me, the hand in the background mirroring the one in the foreground is a really strong element of this shot. It seems you have focused on the bowl, or maybe the monk's hand, I wonder if it would have been better had you focussed on the giver's hand? Having the bowl a little more top right might have worked as well. Very nice first posting from Laos Thien, hope all is well in S'pore.

nice shot, good DOF.

Good close-up Thien, captures the essence of the ritual.

Les dons matinaux aux bonzes, un rituel respecté dans chaque recoin de ce splendide pays. Très belle photo. Amitiés, Patty.
