We were lucky enough to visit a salt mine outside Vientiane, and given access to wander around where I wanted whilst the salt went through its production stages.

Strong dynamic subject in the top corner, insouciant smoker with far-away look in the opposite one. I think it's a really well timed capture, probably a good crop, and I find the very soft light intriguing. The shot has a great sense of balance about it.

You have taken advantage of the invitation well. This is far removed from 'tourist' imagery we see so much of. This is a 'real' moment, unspectacular..but beguiling to me. We are touching on photojournalism territory here, and we need more of that on TE.
Well framed too and with good focus.

hello brendan, like the tight crop, love the expression on the workers face. It's a lot different to the salt mine where i work, we are one of the deepest mines in europe 1100meters down and still going deeper!!
