Yes, serenity has a face.
I liken his expression to that of the lord Buddha. It looks so contented, so serene, so sure.
This novice monk was looking out of the window when I spotted him. I inched closer and took shots of him. I asked him to pose some more for me. He didn't mind. He heed my directions. I told him to look at me...look there...move his head...etc. He was very obliging. But one thing didn't change: his smile. All of this happened while I was looking up at him from below. I will post more shots of him some other days.
I will be back to Bangkok in 3 days.

C'est vrai qu'il se dégage une sérénité dans ce regard, où vont ses pensées ?
Une image forte, une fois de plus Manny.
Very well done.
It is true that he gets free a serenity in this glance, where go his thoughts?
A strong image, once again Manny.
Very well done.

Really nice shot, the sepia works well. Sometimes I do not understand why is a need to have monks, this person is so beautiful, smart, he can do more than being monk. It is not a fight against anything, more a wish to have these clear and nice people here in Europe. Great shot, Manual, a wonderful portrait as always.

This is very nice, the sepia tones are an exellent choice, and I like the wodden frame on the right, it makes the compo very tight. Very beautiful little boy.

This is great. Very nice texture and tones. A bold tight crop on the face with plenty of space on the right for the monk to look into. Very nice.

Hi Manny. Another very good portrait. For some reason, this seems a little different than most of your others, I think it must be the stark background (of course the monotone is another thing). I like the composition a lot, the little bit of visible wall is a nice detail too. It is perhaps a little too contrasty or grainy (Luko's sharpening?), but that is probably more a personal taste than anything else. I am guessing this works much better in the b&w you have shown us than it would in color, it looks to me as the light wasn't going to lend itself to soft colors. Good shot Manny.

Excellent shot, very good composed and the look on the boys face is awesome, you defently caught the moment very good (even you guided him :-) ), the sepia tones are great and suits to this picture.

Manuel this is very nice, like the dark BG, and that "Mona Lisa" smile - who knows why?

Very well lit, composed, & balanced. The angling of the jaw is good too, plus the staring off at the distance, & not the photographer.

Elegant setting and compo for the young monk. Good choice for the TE display.

Très beau portrait à nouveau. j'aime beaucoup la couleur chaude et la lumière qui vient éclairer le visage. Le ragrd au lointain laisse rêveur. bravo

Very nice portrait with a great composition. Also like the sepia option which transmits a timeless feeling and also a very peaceful mood. Anyway I think some more brightness on his face could be nice because I find the highlights and midtones a bit dark.

A very beautiful portrait shot, Manuel. Well framed with the large black area. You title describes the composition very well.

Beautifully composed Manny, a classic shot for you. I especially like the vertical line of what appears to be a window frame suspended in black at the right. And the choice of sepia is good to in my mind since we can focus more easily on this monk's eyes and expression. Well done.
