I like here the sombre color tones with grey, brown and dark green. Pink slippers are lovely details giving life to this place, photographed with high quality. Maybe a bit longer explanation would be fine.

A neat picture and nice note. Do the villagers just tolerate the tourists or do they try and sell things to the tourists? Either way a great shot, that river looks like it is moving very fast.

Hi Danos,

I must admitt that this resting house feels to me anything else but resting. The dramatic and powerful flow of a river is scary and it associates me of great floads we had in our country, living devasted villages behind with people with nothing left. This brown soil just makes this feeling stronger. And this is also great difference of percepting the world....for some these scenery a resting place, place to embrace natures power and magnificence, for some memories of terrible times. But one thing is certain: this capture does not leave you emotionless. It has excellent heavy atmosphere and it tells about this part of the world more than thousand words.

This small building is very well placed in the composition. A little bit diagonally and nicely in front of the river and hills in the background. The dark, brown colours create a fine mood. Well captured!

Danos,
Another fine shot of the daily life by the river of Laos. It a great place to rest and get some water, the heat can get to you real fast, and chance to observed and photograph the village. Great detail considering it's a cloudy day, and composition is good. Thanks so much.

A good presentation of the 3 images. The Pak Ou caves would be a good place for people to set up their goods for sale. The shelter looks to be very close to the river's edge. Is this the Mekong or the Nam Ou? I believe the Pak Ou caves are at the confluence of the two rivers.

Hola Danos,
you present an excellent work with three photographies that complement the principal photo. Excellent setting and interesting colors and tonalities. It is very curious observes the simplicity of this type of "houses": wood and straw, and without any type of safety.
Great example of the daily local life.

Looks like this type of shelter can been commonly seen in many poor countries. If you see my lastest post, it is another form of shelter.

Laos has become a photography target lately. Vietnam also has places which resemble this view. Very good captured of daily life.

Πολύ με αρέσουν τέτοιες κατασκευές πρωτόγωνες για ξεκούραση.
Ρίχνεις έναν υπέροχο ύπνο μεσημεριάτικο αλλά ακι νύχτα πολύ καλό σε ένα τέτοιο περιβάλλον.
Την βρίσκω πολύ ειδυλλιακή εικόνα και με φαντάζομαι εκεί με τις ωρες να χαλαρώνω.

Θλίβομαι πολύ όταν βλέπω τέτοιες περιοχές, και αισθάνομαι οτι οι άνθρωποι εκεί πρέπει να επιβιώνουν πολύ δύσκολα. Βρίσκονται όμως πολύ κοντά στη φύση. Τελικά νομίζω οτι η αλήθεια βρίσκεται κάπου στη μέση.
Πολύ καλή μεταφορά της ατμόσφαιρας της περιοχής με ωραίο κάδρο. Ευχαριστούμε για την παρουσίαση

Άλλη μια φωτογραφία που δείχνει τις άθλιες συνθήκες ζωής των ανθρώπων εκεί.Από τη μία σου φαίνεται πολύ 'φτωχική',αλλά από την άλλη,αυτό το μέρος είναι κατάλληλο για ξεκούραση.Πολύ καλό το contrast και το sharpening και γενικότερα πολύ καλή η δουλειά σου στις τελευταίες φωτογραφίες από το εξωτερικό.Μακάρι να μας χαρίσεις κι άλλες ωραίες φωτογραφίες από αυτά τα μέρη.

It's not exactly what you can call a pretty place and the light and colour of the water isn't nice either, but I don't know why, I find it very attractive. Maybe it is because of its exoticness and apparent genuineness, but certainly also because of the accomplished POV/compo and sharpness.

It looks like rain is going to pour... it gives a special luminosity and natural colors well rendered. Here, the place seems to be peaceful, even though the tourists are not far ;D Pleasant to look to the hut, with people inside, dominating the river. Very nice!
