Nam Khan River Photo

Photographer’s Note

Not far (about one hundred meters) from the confluence of the Mekong River, on the Nam Khan River after sunset….
On the banks, market gardenings just been recovered by the sudden flood of the river. After drop in level, completely destroyed, they will be cultivated again. Many NGO (as Agrisud for example) help for the development.

Hi Alin,
Great mood you captured here with the slight fog that is coming in after sunset. Clarity and detail are excellent, just as the sharpness. The boat on the river is in perfect balance with the house in the left corner. An image with minimum light, but impressive on the composition, great piece of work.

Lovely shot, Alain.
The tranquil mood with the mist and the still water is at odds with the thought of the flood! The composition is delightful, showing the simple boat and the man's reflection superbly at the bottom and the mist passing between the trees.

Salut Alain! Very nice the soft fog patches in the trees and the little boat in front, giving some smooth speed to the otherwise calm scene. Nice to be able to see over the trees, I guess your vertical choice gave us this view which makes the whole situation interesting. It feels hot and damp your photo :) Very nice work, Barbara.

Wonderful composition and color. I especially like the reflection of the raftman and the fog on top of the woods.

Tres belle ambiance sur cette photo avec un premier plan bien net et un arriere plan se perdant progressivement dans la brume et les nuages.
En plus le bateau est juste sorti de l ombre des arbres de la rive oppose si bien que sa lecture est facilitee sur une fond uniforme et clair.

Bonjour Alain

Une superbe composition, avec comme souvent, une très belle scène de vie quotidienne. Une photo qui "parle", le cadrage est impeccable pour pointer ce qu'il faut pour comprendre la scène.
La gestion de la lumière de fin de journée est parfaite, et les bancs de brume qui se détachent, superbes.
Bravo pour retranscrire si bien une atmosphère.

This remind me to misty Mrauk U in Myanmar,And yesterday I searched my Laos archive and found a shot of the temple in the left corner.
A great shot well composed with this boat and a nice atmosphere.I like a lot the deepb blue and green tones in the background.

Le bateau qui glisse sur l'eau en plain rapprochè introduit un thème de mouvement contre un décor calme et statique.
Il semble d'écouter le bruit du petit moteur dans le silence du paysage brumeux...

I love the mood of this image, it touches me personelly. It makes me think of my childhood and homeland. Great detail on such a misty atmosphere with the tropical forest background, great composition with the boatman passing by. There is sense of tranquility and calm. Thanks so much for posting.
