Hi Ricardo. Nice documentary picture. This is photography too: the truth cannot be hidden. Some people still live daily without things we find so normal.

Hi Ricardo,
Excellent composition, the open field is well surrounded by the houses, built against the hill, on the left hand side. There is a lot to see in the foreground with those animals and all the playing children. The colours are pleasant. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Ricardo,
Nice point of view with the kids, all those animals and the path that has been eroded due to all the rainwater passing by. But reading your note, I understand there's not that much rainwater passing by here...
Your description of rural village life is very true. I've read it an I do recognize it from what I have seen in Indonesia while working there. But the Laos countryside is surely more backward with respect to access to modern life than the rural villages you will find in Indonesia. Nice capture.

Dennis

Impressive reportage from this village, Ricardo. Not the usual touristic stuff for sure. Do you have any shots where you were closer to the kids? Great note, too. Regards,

Hi Ricardo,
the photo is fantastic! It is like Brueghel painting set in exotic place. There is so much life here, children, pigs with piglets, dogs and hens. Interesting houses too. I love such places but of course you must have enough time to get there. But certainly it is worth every effort. I was in Akka village in Thailand, also interesting, but closer to civilization. Thanks for sharing.

Good to see you taking us back to Laos. What more can I say after all the comments you already got. Everyone seems to beat me to it. Anyway, here is my version. You take me back home with this shot. Looking at this photo you get general overall feeling of what’s to expect as you continue down the dusty road. Children playing their games, Live stocks running freely sniffing the ground for food. You’ve have to be careful not to step on a dog just around the corner. Excellent depiction of daily life in a remote Akha village. Good composition, clarity, natural color, good contrast for somewhat an overcast and cloudy day.

Paulo
P.S.: se a ASAE visse esta foto concerteza ia a correr selar a área:)

Hi Ricardo,
This is life in its real eye....
The world laughs at many corners, rejoice and party , have their fun shared to the many unwanted, think that they are the amazing humans... and look here, people living in the dark shores of life... An image that should be seen and thought by humane hearts.
Excellent documentation, well filmed, and presented.

Olá Ricardo,
looks in the first moment very poor, but this is sometimes not true if they have what they need. Funny scene with the view having the houses along the slope and the coloured spots of children and animals everywhere. Good texture of the ground.

Ola Ricardo,
very nice daily snapshot of the Akha minority. As i see the perspective and the POV are great and the children live and grow up there with carelessness and in the nature. The conditions of life are difficult and natives live a lot of years behind on our own culture. The colours and the light are superb.Very informative your note.Next March i'll visit Laos and Cambodia for a 10 day trip.Did you travelled alone in Laos or with group?

As crianças completam a cena. Parabéns!
Abraço,
Carlos

Ola Ricardo,
I like this view of the remote village... it shows us exactly how this people live, animals everywhere, wooden stilted houses. Even if the weather was not so helpful, you got nice colors and contrasts. Good sharpening too.
That is a pure daily life scene... good docu shot Ricardo!

Hi Ricardo,
I have the impression that the strong rains which it must have in this area, dug the ground. An interesting photograph and full with life on the daily life of these remote villages. This white sky is not awkward and emphasizes well contours of these habitations and creates an appreciable relief. Thank you for the note and instructive Internet link.
With all my friendships and a very good evening,

What a fabulous daily life shot this is, Ricardo. It is also illustrative of just how far off the beaten track that you get on your treks. Excellent detail. All those kids, pigs, dogs and chickens running around really makes this shot. This is the type of photo that I enjoy seeing on TE. One small suggestion: I would have tried cropping the top through the middle of the roof of the hut in the top right. I don't think that would have adversely impacted the composition or balance, but would have reduced the amount of blown-out sky in frame. Cheers . . . David

HI Ricardo,
What a wonderful composition of village life .. I love the distance .. the way the buildings frame the scene .. the sense of cluttered, dirty, tranquility .. wonderful sense of place and time.
take care,

Ola Ricardo
Wonderful picture! Looks like a etching on wood given the brown tones throughout the picture. This is daily life in the truest sense..a scene which I would see even in my country...possibly different types of houses, different faces, but similar at the heart. Crowded with characters, crowded with action, but that's how it should be...a great shot perhaps the best in your Lao series so far IMHO.
Friendly Regards
Angshu

Hola Ricardo.
Sorry I'm late but I have been quite busy in the last few days. Fortunately today, Sunday, there is a short break in my work.
Good daily life shot with a superb composition, the children playing and helping each others without the presence of their parents, it's a hard life in deed. Very well captured with so many details. Good POV, colors and sharpness.
Well done.

The setting is extraordinary - we could see very very similar villages in north Thailand end of the 70s, probably not any more but Laos is not Thailand !
I love this large view, it gives so many informations... Great colours and fantastic scene !

Looking forward to seeing more photos in your galery,

Hi Ricardo.
Very well done.
Last weeks I have been a bit "out" because I've travelled for different places and that's the reason why I hadn't seen this one. And I like this one.
Well done and thanks for sharing.
ricardo
jorge
