Photographer’s Note
It’s a very long bumpy drive from Luang Prabang to Luang Nam Tha in the north of Laos. The road winds through countless small villages and is always full of surprises. You never know what you will discover around the next corner: workers having a siesta in the middle of the road, a herd of cows, groups of piglets, ducks, chickens, women selling dead squirrels! It’s really a wonderful experience. I took this photo in a Hmong village. Most houses in Laos are built on stilts but the Hmong people don’t use stilts. The skirt hanging to dry in front of the house is a traditional wrap-around skirt that all the Lao women wear.
I actually fell in love with the piglets in these villages. I’ve never seen cuter ones!

Oh- so cute. Just like the story of the 3 pigs and the wolf. I think that it was great that you put in the green cloth. It ads something to the picture. A strong green color with the browns behind. Very nice

Hi Emily,
I did not notice this photo before. I really like the colors and the gradient in which they change. Is that really how it looked or did you do some PS post processing? I saw plenty of dirt and grass hut vilages in Laos but the redness of the dirt is very nice in this photo.
The pigs are not as cute as the children you usually have in your photos but still cute. :)
I personally do not like the blanket but it is a nice photo.

This seems to be the wolf's-eye view. How was your huffing and puffing?
Hi Emily, what kind of camera are you using? Now I've seen a few of your pictures, I see many are rather soft - they remind me of the problem I had with a 28-210mm zoom (I have some old TE shots from Romania taken with it).
