| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Lake in the northern Tian Shan mountains in eastern Kyrgyzstan. Although it is surrounded by snow-capped peaks, it never freezes, hence its name, which means "warm lake" in the Kyrgyz language. Issyk Kul has a length of 182 km, a width of up to 60 km, and covers an area of 6,236 kmē. This makes it the second largest mountain lake in the world behind Lake Titicaca in South America. Located at an altitude of 1,606 m, it reaches 668 m in depth. |

Hi Marcin,
I didn't know about this lake (the second largest mountain lake!).
Beautiful shot with warm colours on the left side and good shadows on the right.

Hi, Marcin -
We're thinking about a trip to Central Asia, so I was Googling Issyk-Kul and this link came up. This picture really does make me want to go! It's a beautiful capture; you've got the highlights in the clouds and even a bit of the sun itself, while the shadows are not overdone. There's even a bit of blue in the sky. Nice!

Awesome atmosphere of that photo. Simply brilliant stuff and the hiding sun makes it excellent. The heat of the colors is perfect. Top class effort. No doubt. Big bravo. Cheers!
