Picture taken at a Kyrgyz national festival, held at lake Song-Kul.
One highlight of the festival was the Kyrgyz national game, Ulak Tartysh. This ancient game is a bit like polo, but with a major difference: It's played with a dead goat carcass!
Lifting the 30+ kg goat carcass from the ground while riding a galloping horse is tricky - even without the competitor's horse breathing down your neck... |
