Kyrgyz Hat

A man walking on the streets of Bishkek with a Kyrgyz traditional hat on his head. To my surprise, this ancient piece of clothing was still a popular part of every day streetwear even in the capital city.

I do not know the local name for this hat. Maybe someone would help me?

The hat is called simply ak-kalpak. It has been around for so long, nobody remembers its origins. The "white hat" is made of 4 triangles of felt. It warms you up in winter and protects from sun in summer. Very useful and respected part of traditional clothes worn by most of men everywhere in Kyrgyzstan.
