Photographer’s Note
I am not sure if the farmer was taking a short cut home or was out looking for his heard. I was hiking in the hills to the south of the city of Bishkek, when I spotted the man on the skyline. I had to use a full zoom of X8 to capture the picture. This the beginning of the Al-Archa range which is part of the Tian Shan. Due to the dense haze it is not possible to discern the mountains in the far distance from the sky.

Wow ... that is a long short cut :-). Well seen, well captured ... and such a wonderful TrekEarth moment! It really shows how desolate and big ... and beautiful ... this seldom seen part of the world is!

Very nice again. These mountains seem very dramatic. The lone climber with his pack animal gives a very strong sense of scale to the landscape. You have good eyes for catching him while hiking at such a distance. Nicely composed and good job.

Hi Robin. Perhaps this will be the newest fitness craze in America. Spend a few weeks in Kyrgyzstan and you will be fit and trim ; )
This is a great shot. The mountains are lovely. Well taken!

Beautiful landscape. Good choice of title. I like to see the man climbing up the hill. I would be tempted to crop a part of the bottom. Well done Robin.
