Photographer’s Note
This was taken about 15 - 20 kilometres east of the lake side town of Balykchy, which is on the extreme western edge of Lake Issyk-kul. The view is looking north across the corner of the lake (which can just be seen as a thin blue line below the snow cover) and which stretches about 150 km east from here. The mountain range is a low lying range, at this point, on the western edge of the Tian Shan. Kazakhstan, and the large city of Almaty is on the other side of the mountain.
This was taken in mid winter but the lake never freezes as it is very deep.
The dark blue patch in the foreground is a wet piece of ground in the shade of a high row of trees, behind me, lining the road I was travelling on.

Another very dramatic landscape. The feeling is very endless and the difference between the dark blue water and the golden grass is great. I would suggest a slightly tighter crop to get rid of some more, but not all, of the shaded foreground. The mountains are beautiful out there. Very gentle and rolling looking from this distance. Nicely done.

This is Kyrgyzstan as how I remeber it myself; the tremendous open spaces with the mountains in the background.
The composition is nice with the tree nicely situated. The colours are a little bit dissapointing; there seems to be a yellowish glow to it.
Still a very nice shot anyway

The picture is layered;the mountain,golden/brown grassland and the dark foreground. Composition is there but not so with the sky. I would go there to see how it looks in deeper shade of blue, or clouds for dramatic.

Very dramatic image, suggesting a lot of loneliness and emptiness. It could be my monitor but there is tooà much yellow here.

Wow, this is one of those shots that make me feel like I'm a very small part of the whole; just like the lone tree. I love how this picture depicts grandness and abundance (even if it's only snow and grass we see in abundance). Beautiful!
