You used it with talent, Jonathan, and you made a perfect composition with this landscape.

This is amazing, Jonathan, the light is SO beautiful this way, it really leaves a golden glow on the yurts (in Mongolia they say ger, but the structure is exactly the same). The sky is very special as well, but i like the light on the yurts the most.
Good crop, (or composition)

Wonderful image Jonathan. I've not come across your work before and I am delighted to welcome you to TE.
The lighting here is wonderful with the well lighted yurts beneath that dramatic sky. Colors and details are nicely rendered. I especially appreciate the grass in the golden light. Excellent work.

A stunning photograph Jonathan! I have tried so many times to take interesting pictures of yurts and gers, with disappointing results. But here you have produced a real work of art. If I had tried taking this shot, I probably would have over-exposed it compared to what you have done, so I have learnt a lot from this picture in terms of managing the exposure.

The light in this photo immediately caught my eye, Jonathan! Getting the light on the yurts and the dark sky is good timing, and if your timing was lucky, then a good eye! Very nice work.

Jonathan! This is one of the best photos I have seen here. You made excellent use of the poor weather in your photo. The contrasting light is stunning and the way you get the traditional yurts into this light play is masterful. I thought I was blessed with sunshine and perfectly blue skies when I visited Song-Kul, but you have made me rethink now! Best regards and Merry Christmas! Chris

Hi Jonathan,
You so many excellent photos in your gallery!
This is not the first photo I see from this place, but these yurts, fascinate me, as if this was a scene from anciant times. The shot is great, with good sharpness and a magic lighting. The effect on the sky, described in your note, is very nice and I like the detail of the white line of the horizon, dividing the lake from the sky.
It's a superb image!
Thanks,
Ricardo

Hello Jonathan
Very good playng with the lights.
The clear tents gave an under exposition to the background and that's gave a very nice dramatic composition.
Cheers.

GReat timing on the two halves of the sky.
I wonder how it would look like if you have a POV further afield, it might prove a different & interesting conposition too.
