Photographer's Note
The Burana Tower is a large minaret in the Chuy Valley in northern Kyrgyzstan. It is located about 80 km east of the country's capital Bishkek, near the town of Tokmok. The tower, along with grave markers, some earthworks and the remnants of a castle and three mausoleums, is all that remains of the ancient city of Balasagun, which was established by the Karakhanids at the end of the 9th century.
The tower was originally 45 m (148 ft) high. However, over the centuries a number of earthquakes caused significant damage to the structure. The last major earthquake in the 15th century destroyed the top half of the tower, reducing it to its current height of 25m (82 ft).

Hi Patrick,
That is an intrigiong and eye catching you view that you captured here. The modern staircase contrasts well with the ancient tower, and the upward POV is perfect. Thanks for a great note too.
Cheers

Bonjour Patrick
En dépit de la différence d'époque entre l'escalier et la tour, je note un parfait cadrage, bonne perspective de la tour et un beau dessin formé par l'escalier.
Une image très appréciable
Bien cordialement

Hi Patric,
yes, we travel in the same tracks(read my reply on your comment from my Chobe shot)
I like your ability to find interesting compositions, i have been to Burana tower also but i did not manage to take any artistic shot like this. The staircase create a great pattern with the curved stairs towards the blue sky. Sharp and clear and an excellent note,Tfs!
Have a nice evening.

Hello Patrick,
Great point of view: the tower looks now
more bigger/higher and it makes the
picture exciting. Also has the viewer
the feeling that they can use the stair.
Composition and light management are as
always excelent.
Friendly regards,
Robert

Hi Patrick.
A wonderful composition with a well chosen POV, with the stark contrast of the old minaret. and that modern staircase, magnificent perspective that seems to raise the tower into the sky, ideal design of the graphics on the bricks.
Well done.
Best regards.

Bonjour Patrick,
Lovely detail! It looks great from here, although I find the stairs bad for the traditioal architecture of the tower. Well seen, spectacular capture.

Hi Patrick
look! architecture from you!!
great to see! haha
I've often said that its best to look way up when shooting architecture...and this is exact proof of that!
lovely contrasts in form and color.
and the backdrop is equally important as its attractive blues and whites work well.
smart contrasts all around.
well done my friend
cheers

Bonjour Patrick,
Love the concept here, a unique composition. The point of view lends itself to many interesting lines and shapes, I find this very appealing. There are virtually shapes created in the sky alone with this arrangement. Splendid patterns from both the stairs and those on the tower itself. The exposure brings out all of the fine detail, this is a smart recognition and creative framing. Bravo!
Cheers,
Jason
