HI Katherine,
I like this. Shadowy, yet great detail of pores, hairs on face, the lips and ear. It's actually interesting.

Hello Katherine,
this is excellent . The composition keeps some mystery whilst showing us enough to be interested, the details and textures (those lips!) are beautiful as is the strong light and shadows that you used very well. Love that earring and the tonality.
TFS and best regards

A nice bit of mystery, Katherine. What mystery lurks in the shadows, on the unseen side of the face? What are the eyes doing? Because you didn't include the eyes, we are made to focus on the smallest details of what is visible--the glint of light off the lips and the earring, the rough whiskers, the round cheek. Those might not be noticed in an ordinary portrait. But you don't do anything "ordinary", do you? Regards, Ken.

Katherine,
Very good scenography !
Sharpness, black and white, shadow and light...
and a little taste of provocation !
I like it
