The Kansai region is one of the most heavily industrialized areas of Japan. These massive refineries line up along the Kobe - Kansai airport expressway for many kilometers.

Wow Cristian, who'd have thought that a site like this could look so good. You've made this place look really good with the sharp detail, and the great strong lines in this shot. Your title is very fitting for this one, it is indeed an industrial postcard. There's a nice contrast between the industry and the clouds behind, some of which were obviously created by this "machine".

Thanks, John

Industrial surrealism at its best. A pity the van and the small house is included in the corner, otherwise the lack of human presence would have us guessing about the size of this.

Hi Cristian

Probably one of the best industrial shot i ever seen on TE. Very vivid and sharp picture. Love the detail lines drawn alone the objects. Great composition and superb POV.

Regards,

Lopshang.

Hello Cristian,

Nice urban, industrial landscape. I also find that all those pipes and tubes can provide interesting photo and here the sunset sun is providing game of light on the metal.
I like the little truck on the botton right corner to give the scale of the giant plant.
The look of the clouds seems a little strange, is it an artefact of the jpeg or did you play a kind of HDR to manage to the high range light?

Yves.

Hi Christian,
excellent use of those contrasts, metallic colors and the sky to bring a graphical interesting picture.
Cheers
Marc

Hello Cristian,
I'm Thankful for your warm words on my post !

but here ! ohh! what a landscape !
it reminds me the city whre I was born there in south of Iran,Abadan city, where has a bigest refinery of the world till 1980 !
Then War and fire and explosion and killing the poeple and workers and ...
The side light is perfect,in fact you worked it a fine moment.the graphism aspects of the shot is special with those steams and clouds.
an atmospheric work and I'm glad you posted it,very well captured and composed.
Best Wishes
M

Hi Cristian, you've made these boilers & chimneys seem strangely beautiful in this shot. The great light, wispy clouds and gleam of metal certainly helped you here, but very well done on recognizing the photographic potential of this scene. Regards,
Ryno

Cristian,
Well, not something that I would think of photographing, but this looks great. Very artistic actually, Pretty even, except the subject. Great composition and good sharpness and clarity. Well done.

Industrial Postcard? LOL!
But you really got my attetion here and I have to admit that the whole "landscape" has a certain beauty in all its colors and perfect light management. A scene that I was thinking to do myself but since 2001 it is highly suspiscious to get shots of places like this here in the US.

Bonjour Cristian
Fantastique! on dirait vraiment un décor futuriste pour un film de science fiction. Le traitement de la lumière et des couleurs est parfait et accentue encore l'effet surréaliste de la scène. Un grand bravo. Superbe.
Amicalement

christian

I liked this pov, it is very interesting. The lines of the place against the dramatical clouds are very nice to see. I think if a version in B&W could be interesting too.

hugs
