Takamikura (高御座,literally;high throne) is the official throne of the emperor of Japan. It is only used in the coronation ceremony.

When the coronation of the current Emperor Akihito was held at Tokyo imperial palace in 1990, this throne was brought to Tokyo from Kyoto by a helicopter.
After the ceremony, the throne was brought back to Kyoto (by a helicopter again) palace.
