An early rise got me to a spot I'd staked out the previous day at the edge of Kawaguchiko (lake)where I got this shot.

Very nicely composed and shot. If you do an 'Auto Level' and sharpen the detail in your photo will come out.

I really like your composition, but the shot is a bit dark, especially on the right portion of the frame. You might want to play with the levels and/or brightness to see if you can bring up the exposure a little bit. It looks like there is detail there to be drawn out, and there is also a reflection in the lake that would show up better with some brightening.

Very very nice shot. As the other reviewers have noted, I'd try to brighten the right hand side a little. Don't overdo it though, it's strength is in it's subtlety.

Very nice shott even if i agree iwth bob and ronners regarding the brightening, i would try to play a bit with brghtness and gamma.
Very Nice shot i apreciate very much the snow cap

I like it as it is, the darker part only adds to the special athmosphere of this photo, Hokusai wouldn't do better if he had a camera. Omoshiroi desu.

Beautiful shot. Don't change anything except maybe a little sharpening. Composition is perfect and the dark zone just adds to the very special atmosphere you captured.

I very nice shot, but I have to agree with some of the others, that it's a bit to dark, perhaps an autolevel and a unsharpenmask would bring out the details.

Personally, I prefer this version of your photo. It is very haunting to me, perfectly captures the majesty and wonder of Mt. Fuji! Excellent work, I'm glad you staked out that spot! The colour and lack thereof is fantastic! Love the sun just hitting the snow cap.

I've only ever seen her from the air. I hope one day to get much closer!

nicely composed and exposed

Fuji-san looks just perfect.
I wouldn't mind an early rise if it delivers such a wonderful scene.
Thanks for sharing.

What a fine shot! So poetic!

The colors are soft so the lighting. Very fine job!

Hello Martin,
Beautiful photo. Nice composition. Good job.

It seems like it was a fog that morning, that's why it looks so mistycal. Nice photo. One of the best of Mt. Fuji I have seen here.
Shadows are very good and blue and yellow are in a good harmony here.

An unusual, and very beautiful portrait of one of the world's famous mountains. The composition and balance of light throughout the image work very well.

Excellent shot and a great idea that shows when you really make the effort you can capture beautiful images.

wow this is really nice. very well captured
but i would like the snow to be bit more brighter. over all its a nicely composed shot

Martin: I like your image. Though it's an often presented theme here on TE, you did a fine job with the dawn light here. Finely off-centered too. regards, c

Hi Martin,

I definitely prefer this original version of your work to the final (or workshop) version. The colors seem far more natural than the brighter version, in which the colors of the sunrise appear more artificial due to the manipulation.

Thank you for this beautiful image and the valuable opportunity to compare it with a variation.

Congratulations on this really solid photo!!
José
