[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Girl feeding deer in Nara city, Japan.
Nara was Japan's capital in the years 710-784. The deer are allowed to roam free in the city, and are regarded to be the city's devine protectors: legend has it that a mythological god - Takemikazuchi -arrived in Nara on a white deer to guard the newly built capital.
There are about 1200 deer in nara. Lots of small shops around the city sell these biscuits as deer food.

Nice photo Doron. Good use of shallow DOF and nice exposure/colors, etc. I think the panoramic design is a little too much for me. I wish it had more room top and bottom. Nice shot.

Hello Doron,
It is always interesting to learn about unusual traditions like this!
Good note and a fine photo documentary, action has been well captured!
Greetings,

Hi Doron,
Beautiful portrait, sharp and nice colors. This picture gives a certain emotional and tender feelings to everyone who watch it,
great work!

Hi Doron,
I particularly like the light and colours in this shot and also the wonderful mood. You have caught a great moment of interaction between the girl and the deer. Good composition and sharpness too.
Regards
Wanda

A lovely shot, both for the subject matter and the crispness of the colors, and the composition. I would have preferred it if you hadn't cut off the top of her head, which I something I do all the time myself. The background is nicely blurred while the foreground is perfect.

It also brings back memories of when I was in Nara and this deer kept following me around wanting my snack.

Hi,

Very clear photo, and nice colors. Also moment is unique. Congratulations

Really well-done close-up. Elegant, long neck of the animal so perfectly matches with calm and cheerful Japanese girl's face. Brilliant colours! Visited Japan once I have enormous senstiment toward the country, nice to see the glimpse from there!
with regards, Agnieszka

Hello Doron,
I didn't know about the fact that the deer are allowed to roam free in Nara. It has permitted you to capture a very beautiful photo. And I mean it. There is such a peaceful feel in this photo... a real treat for my eyes, no doubt...
Your photo is a very valuable one, in my opinion. There is not only peacefulness, but also grace and warmth. Your crop is excellent and your framing perfect. I like the panorama style you applied.
Colors are good too, maybe a little too red for the skin tones. I also wonder if the shirt was white in the first place, and if the blue/red cast was due to the shadow. If so, you can work it out with a good PP program. I also wonder about the small halo around the antlers. During the sharpening process maybe? I don't know.
Let me tell you something. Though I am nitpicking a bit here, it is because your photo is worthing my time to look at it carefully and speaks my mind. It is a great photo in its most noble sense.
Claire

The picture is awesome.
Thanks for the description. Had no idea about what you mentioned!
