Photographer's Note
Japan boxes such as the one you can find in temples. I do not know what they represent, what is their usage etc... but i found them "funny". There was tens of them all around the place (was in a temple in Kamakura).

Hi Stephane .
I can tell you what those boxes are because I'm Japanese .
We keep Sake there ,that is to say ,those boxes are Sake Barrel that is same as wine cask.
Usuallly a wholesale store has this cask but some temple also have them for a festival that is something like a happy new year festival .
But I've never seen such a lot of many sake boxes like this picture.
Anyway this picture is very sharp and well-coloured .
