Photographer's Note
I was near a temple in Kyoto, I forget which one, but this shot interested me because I just thought of experimenting and I found this shot, I just pointed up from my tripod and thought that the blossom was interesting with the red leaves and the branches in the background
I just wonder what you think
I hope you like it

i think so too, the whole image is so free and light it looks like the branches weigh nothing and float free in the air. The red and white combo is always nice. however it seems a bit out of focus. Well seen.

Une imege toute en finesse avec une belle profondeur de champ qui detache trés bien le sujet.
Belle presentation bien vu Daniel.

Very good DOF and good colours, the blossom indeed interesting with the red around it, I think that you should think how not to get the left branch in the frame, it is useless for the composition and catching the eye.
I think that you should do levels and sharpening, sending a WS.

i like this shot very much... it is by far my favorite shot from your posts on flowers or blossom trees... i like the background that enhances the foreground. it makes a very graphic composition and a quite unseen one... the other pics were too classical japonese shots for me...;-) nice shot!

The red and white colors are pretty and contrast very well, Dan. A simple but quite delightful capture; you did well on spotting the opportunity for taking this one. My improvement ideas are pretty much captured in the two workshops you got so far. Nice shot, thanks for sharing.

It looks like flying branches and flowers. Beautifully cought, excellent shallow DOF and nice soft colours and contrast. It's excellent composed, a very nice catch Dan.

The DOF is successful, masking out the busy background of a mass of branches. The leaves and flowers are in good focus and clarity.
If the colours were more vibrant, that would add more zest to the image, I did a WS on it :)
Good shot all the same :)

Nice shot but it doesn't stand out very strongly. I think it needs contrast boost or a saturation boost. The workshops turned out nicely. But you did get the DOF here and the composition. It's like a gentle painting of blossoms. Nicely spotted and photographed.

An elegant composition with the fine colour balance between the main motive and the background. Well done Dan

Well Daniel,
I don't think that this is a very good photo, but thats peronal. The dof is good, no doubt. The composition is in my eyes not great, That's what I think.
