Photographer’s Note
I went out with Peter yesterday, in a hectic city Tokyo. We actually didn't expect to see the festival in Asakusa, I still don't know what it was for, but anyways these guys and the carriage gave us a good chance to take photos of the locals there.
I was a little bit scared standing in the middle of the crowd, pushed around and I was shorter than most of the people there, but I tried to be brave to stand in front line of the crowd. Well, I was lucky to have this shot though.
After our shooting in the city, we went to meet Francis, we sat at a table and started checking on my every photos I had taken on that day. He stopped on the pic and said "I think it looks really good in B&W, that would be really nice" I wasn't sure if he was right, the photo looked lacking colours and contrasts. I followed his advice anyways and here is the result. Man, he has good eyes!!

Hello lauryn. A beautiful shot in b&w. The expressionful faces within a close framework. In addition an interesting text. Very beautifully. Best regards, Wolfgang.

The image delivers an impressive "closeness" to these people. Good one, and even more so in B&W!

Lauryn,
Great shot. Yes it was a little intimidating standing there in the crowd. It was worth it though as this is a great shot. Nice strong diagonal line of people through the frame and different expressions on each face. A nice black and white conversion too.
It was really nice to meet you and Francis on Friday. If it get the chance id love to take some time and travel around Japan. It such a fascinating country!
Cheers

Hi Lauryn,
I like your focus on the centre man here, and the tight composition is great. Black and white really works well for this shot. A good expressive portrait shot.

It's very nice in b&w indeed, Lauryn - yes, Francis has good eyes for that kind of stuff, but what's new. The tight framing/cropping works really well to convey the dense and packed scene of the folks engaged in the festival activities. Good compositional diagonal resulting from the three faces in a row. Hope you enjoyed your stay in Tokyo, I'm going there again next week.

I've discovered your galery today.
I'm very astonished by the number of beautiful photographs about daily life in the city !!!
This one- a little masterpiece of composition with people in the crowd.
Interesting DOF on a man in the middle...
A very good one.

Hi Lauryn
I think you've got quite a gallery here - like it very much. And this photo is realy great one - the three faces of the some tilt in row - what a view. They look like carryig something very heavy - do they ? great composition, perspective and erfect use of BW. Greetings T.

Very good close up and in there face shot Lauryn. It always helps to let others see your shots as they perhaps see the full potential of them. Nice work and a good B&W.

Olá Lauryn!
Quanta gente nas suas fotos! Que maravilha!
Amei ver as pessoas no seu cotidiano. Gosto imensamente de conhecer os costumes de povos tão distantes de mim.
Belo trabalho.
Um abraço do Brasil!:o)
