A young monk

A young monk at the Myotsu-ji Temple.
He seems to be an austere, deeply religious man. He said to tourists "If you don't have another belief, please offer worship to the statue of Buddha. You may take pictures of buildings, but please do not take a picture of statues. This is a place for pray. Not an art museum."
At a few Buddhist temples in Japan, monks are overtalking like tour guides. But this monk is completely different. I thought that his seriousness was really suitable for medieval buildings of the temple.

Hi,
I found it a very interesting picture, what raises many theoretic questions. What is inside, in the darkness, behind the searching man, the monk. What does this darkness mean? What is he looking for? And so on. Anyway I liked the weathered wooden surface too... Pal
hello
magnifique photo. dommage que le sol soit trop exposé sinon elle serait parfaite.
bonne continuation

What strikes me here is the seriousness you have explained so well in your note.
The contrast is very powerful, his dark clothing makle sure that there is now way you can not notice him.
The other thing I like here is how well the anchient traditions are shown. In a modern world we still have quiet and deeply religous places like this. Just magnificent.
