Taken in Dotonbori in Osaka downtown. It started raining and all the wonderful colourful umbrellas came out.

Great shot, lovely colours and good POV.

Gary

Hi Alex,
Different, good POV and i like it, but it looks like the photo has a little deformation. is it caused by the lens distortion?
regards
mali

Hello Alex,
Wow, so much colour and activity. The lighting and composition is spot on. Thanks for sharing,
Jules

Lovely wide angle, and a nice contrast of colourful details and that gloomy sky. Well done, Alex.

Hello Alex,
Really excellent, the distortion gives all the price to the picture. And the contrast between the dark clouds and the lights, the rainy atmosphere, the POV : there's something irreal, it reminds me some scenes of a great japanese animation movie : Ghost in the Shell.
Olivier.

Nice one, Alex. Cool distortion at the wide end of the 17-40 pulling the scene together, rolling it up so to speak. Goo reflections on the road surface and pnchy colors.
Best,
Francs

no wonder francis stopped by.. a beautiful streetshot, very moody indeed...

i think the oversaturated colours also work well, though i'd have been a bit more selective, some of the greens, cyans and reds seem too over the top... also a white frame would have worked better imo

A not commun point of view, from the ground. The result is very luminous with great colors. I like the movement of people.
Well done,
Jean-Claude

Une belle scene de vie japonaise donnant un peu l'impression que l'on a affaire à de la science fiction... Peut être est ce là l'influence de toutes ces couleurs urbaines et de ce ciel menacant... Ceci étant dit felicitations pour votre composition...

what a different and great angle for a photo.
wonderful to see the storm roll over the street... it must have bucketed down!
Thanks

Hello Alex
Interesting composition.
Almost overcolored mainfeeling.
Three (looks like triangle) umbrellas are collecting those girls to the same group.
Falling left side and wideangle effect is giving something before beginned thunder.
Ill never been in Japan, but this picture is amplifying that feeling, what i have to look some day.

It looks like also, that you have been give little bit more light for downside. Good choice. I like a lot this city second.
Regards
Jussi

Lovely cavalcade of colors, perfectly chosen POV, very living picture - I feel almost like there..

Szabolcs

I like this one!!! Very original composition! Nice urban scene. Maybe just a bit too saturated. JS

For some reason this photo reminds me of the movie "lost in translation" although it's not taken in Tokyo :)
I like it very much!
