[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
First of all it's a hit shot, but I aimed on the three boys hoping to capture some kind of emotion on their faces.

This was taken in Osu, in front of an electric shop. Red coloured walls of shop, bright lights, noisy musics from inside the shop, Japanese logos written in the flags...it's so messy and chaotic, there seem no rules in the street here. There you see so many kinds of people as well.

That's what I like about this district and where it's so photogenic that I go often to take pictures.

I like the shot well enough, Lauryn - at first I thought it was another one from my Indian brother Shailendra but, no, it's from Nagoya. It has all the advantages (stealth, surprise, naturalness) of a hip shot, and all the disadvantages too (faces out of focus, backgrounds sharp, etc.)
No one understands better than I do the temptations of hip shots - it's better than getting a black eye I guess. But honestly, from the heart I say to you: it is not the way forward in photography - only by looking through the finder (even for a brief moment) can any of us really grow in our efforts.
But I like the shot well enough, as I said, and I respect what you're doing.

Hi Lauryn. Is it the electronics shop where you bought the memory card when we met last November? In any case I know what you mean about the photographic appeal of Osu, after walking through the district with you a few times :-) I don't care if it's a hip shot or not, I think overall it's a pretty nice candid of the three guys in front of the slightly messy storefront. Good details rendered amidst all the different electronic light sources. Take care.

Hi Lauren,
I like the way the boys' common interest ties the photo together. I suspect that this kind of shot was necesary to captured their unguarded interest. HLJ, Pat
