I've been uploading various pictures from the nihon-ji temple over the last couple of weeks and finally we've made it to the prime attraction. This is a massive Buddha carved out of stone. This Buddha is actually bigger than the famous Buddha in Nara but it's not as well known, probably because it is not that old. In fact although I lived five years in Tokyo -- which is not all that far from here -- I never even heard of this place. So on this last trip when I found out we were going to this area, I discovered about the existence of Nihon-ji and made sure to stop and take a look. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood.
