Photographer’s Note
This will be one of my last repost for a while because I am going to post a new picture tomorrow.
This was taken in Hiroshima, Miyajima the place near where the atomic bomb was dropped.
It was nearing sunset and I thought I would take a picture, I waited for such a long time for this shot, but patience is also one of the keys to be a good photographer.
This structure is really big in size, it stands about 50 feet and the tide was up.
I hope you like it, I know alot of you have not seen this one before, so please enjoy it.

Kind of a classic shot I guess. Really well taken with good composition and I think your patience paid off here. Good stuff! (Maybe you could straiten the horizon, but otherwise great).

J'aime bien le fait que la photo degage quelque chose de special peut etre du a ce monument ou l'effet du ciel. Dommage pour la ligne d'horizon.
Je vais effecter un WS pour voir si je peut pas mettre le principale sujet plus en valeur. Bravo Daniel

A very fine play with light in this shot, Dan. The torii is nicely placed in the frame and seen as a silhouette; maybe you could crop a bit of the water at the bottom to move the torii a bit below the vertical center. Also I think the horizon is leaning a bit to the right. Great sparkling light reflection on the water, well captured. I have to admit I'm looking forward to seeing new shots from you.

Very nice. The light is great. The torii doesn't even look out of place in the water. It really seems to belong there. Also the feeling of dusk is nicely shared through this photograph. I like the lines, too, especially of the reflecting sun. Perhaps leveling the horizon would be helpful to the photo. Still, it's a nicely shot dusk scene. Good job. Just a quick question? Why is the torii placed in the water? Is it the entrance to a sacred place out there or does it have some other symbolism.

I'd level the horizon & darken the sky. The sunlight on the water is gorgeous. Are these structures called torii's ?

I very much like the reflections of the sunlight on the water. The framing is great and the tilted horizon works well in this shot.

Another fine shot Daniel, nice steely reflections in the water, good sky with the overexposed area directly above the torii and even the lens flare adds something.
I can't work out why the torii seems level and the horizon is sloped.
Nice shot.

It's beautiful! The upper part of the temple makes a nice colour change in the blue. Good composition too. The horizon tilt bothers me a bit as well...

I am Daniel.Thank you for waiting and getting this shot for us.The glazed surface of the water and the light coming out through the clouds, guessed that was what you have had been waiting for.
Worth the wait, just like hunting.
