"The Heian Jingū (平安神宮) is a Shinto shrine located in Kyoto, Japan. The Torii before the main gate is one of the largest in Japan, and the main building, or shaden (社殿), is designed to imitate the Kyoto Imperial Palace.
The Heian Jingū was built in 1895 for the 1100th anniversary of the establishment of Heiankyō (the old name of Kyoto). The shrine is dedicated to Emperor Kammu and Emperor Kōmei. The former moved the capital to Heian, and the latter was the last before Emperor Meiji, who moved the capital to Tokyo.
The Heian Jingū is the destination of the Jidai Matsuri, one of the three most important festivals of Kyoto. (October 22). The procession of this festival begins at the old Imperial palace, and includes carrying the mikoshi (portable shrines) of Emperors Kammu and Komei to the Heian Jingū."

the colors are like a lamp. I have the impression that even in the dark this must be visible. It would be interesting to see the shrine in bright sunlight.

Nice colours with great contrasts! The only pity is some areas of the sky.
Excellent note too.

Very interesting this gate in the overall red setting in the green environment. The low pov expose the building in a most interesting way together with the fine trees on both sides. The pastell like light seems perfect for this one

Excellent picture. I am still wondering what you do to get those pastel colours. I like it very much. One day, you have to explain me that. Well done.

Classic and beautiful. This gives and overview of the building, yet is close enough that we can see the details and the workmanship. The colours really stand out too, with the bright orange coming through very well. Excellent!

Very nice colours, good light and POV.
I wonder that there aren't more people walking around.

The orange/red colors of the shrine really shine in this one, particularly in the otherwise rather subdued color setting. No experiments on this one, but a comprehensively framed shot that works well to illustrate the place as well as its scale, due to the inclusion of some visitors.

Well composed with plesing tones and hues of red and green which blend so well. The POV is well chosen, and I like the way the character trees flank the shrine. Good clarity of detail with natural colours. Well captured, Chris.

quel jeu de couleurs agréable, ces verts qui sont inhabituels et qui entourent ces rouges vifs.
Parfaite capture des lumières qui étaient bonnes et excellent cadrage.

Wonderful colours of the temple against the BG. I like how you've framed with the trees here. The combination of red & green on the temple is a visual treat
