"The Heian Jingū (平安神宮) is a Shinto shrine located in Kyoto, Japan. The Torii before the main gate is one of the largest in Japan, and the main building, or shaden (社殿), is designed to imitate the Kyoto Imperial Palace.
The Heian Jingū was built in 1895 for the 1100th anniversary of the establishment of Heiankyō (the old name of Kyoto). The shrine is dedicated to Emperor Kammu and Emperor Kōmei. The former moved the capital to Heian, and the latter was the last before Emperor Meiji, who moved the capital to Tokyo.
The Heian Jingū is the destination of the Jidai Matsuri, one of the three most important festivals of Kyoto. (October 22). The procession of this festival begins at the old Imperial palace, and includes carrying the mikoshi (portable shrines) of Emperors Kammu and Komei to the Heian Jingū."

Hi Chris, another good compo on colour perspective. I like how you have captured the shrine from a sideway angle as apposed to full view the angle adds to the depth of perspective. Good strong red colours balanced against the grey floor tiles with a touch of green trees in the bg. Well done here.
regards. will be back.

You've been on a roll lately Chris, with a series of great shots, and this is another one! I like the geometric lines, combined with the curved lines of the roof and the bright colours. The shot seems very well balanced and like everything is in the right position. Well done!

le point de vue est parfait pour mettre en valeur le côté aérien de ces toits de pagodes. J'aime bien le contraste de couleurs entre le rouge est le vert.
Très belle image.

Hi Chris. Well, it's not exactly a revolutionary composition (and I'm slightly bothered by the 1-2 mm of black and white borders at the left neither of which should be there - or they should run along all four edges). But I think the vertical format is well used to emphasize the perspective impression that results from the framing you chose. The vivid orange tones are nice to see in the otherwise rather bleak setting of light. It could be so much more interesting with some people much closer to your lens. Thanks for showing this one, it looks like a worthwhile place for me to check out in November (didn't see it on my first trip yet).

A very sharp image here and one with excellent colouring. The impact is strong and the structures give an impressive graphic feeling to the picture. The traditional architectural style is captured with great effect from this pov and is delivered with good perspective. Well done.

Hi Chris !
La composition est remarquable avec en premier plan une partie de ce palais d'une grande élégance et dans le fond un autre bâtiment tout aussi intéressant.

This is a fascinating POV you've chosen for this shot. The red rooff and the columns provide a strong graphical impact from this POV. Beautiful colour contrast between the roof & the red

That's a beauty Chris well framed with the gallery aside this standing frame enhanced by the fine color contrast, red to green/blue, excellent.
