this is a large alpine lake in the middle of Daisetsuzan NP with year-round glaicers and large late blooming alpine flowers in the forground. also around this lake are many pikkas. it is often used as a base-amp to climb Tomuraushi, one of the 100 famous mountians in japan.

Hi Ryan, I really like this shot. An unusual landscape and rich colours combine to create a memorable photo. It was a good idea to focus on the two blooms in the foreground, as it makes your composition stronger. Great stuff!

Hi Ryan. I like the composition and the colours, and interesting cloud formation. My only criticism is the tilt to the right - it just doesn't look good to my eye, to have your only straight line slightly out of kilter. Still, it's an interesting view of an interesting spot, and the flowers are beautiful.

The yellow colour of the flowers together with the dark blue water the glazier and the sky, very nice!

Hi Ryan,

This is a lovely composition and very well framed.
You have captured the nature on the ground, the stunning landscape of Hokkaido, and also a dramatic sky.
Brilliant work!

I would rotate the image anti-clockwise a degree ot two, as the image looks a little tilted to my eye.

The colours are very vibrant, too. You have captured this whole scene very well.
