Photographer’s Note
It is one of the popular scenery of the suburbs in Japan. The shade of an apartment always seems to be lonely.

You're right, it has a lonely feeling. And the bikes really add to that. All the bicycles are all together and nicely cut off. It gives them life like they're doing something just out of the frame. But because the scooter is different they won't let the scooter join and so it stands perpendicular to them with the front looking back at them slightly as if it's sad it can't join. It's a fun image to look at to think of a story and it really expresses the loneliness in this way, I think, in addition to the way the light and shadow is. Nicely composed. Good job.
