Bandai Bridge over the downstream of the longest river in Japan, Shinano, is the symbol of Niigata city. Its length is 307m and has 6 arches. It is lighted up through the year, and known for its beautiful night scene. At the folkdance parade of Niigata festival taking place in August, approx. 20,000 people wearing traditional Kimono and Yukata dance around the Bandai Bridge.
Spring is the the most beautiful season here along the river banks highlighted by hundreds of blooming Sakura trees.
