I snapped this one man standing alone at the back of the boat, during the cruise across Lake Ashi.

His expression shows he is feeling a bit down, to me. He looks lonely.

I wonder why he would be making the journey on his own. Is he a tourist? Then why isn't he with friends? If he is going to Hakone-en for any reason, wouldn't it be easier/cheaper to drive or take a bus around the lake?

A lot of the people, the things, and the events, that I saw in Japan gave more more questions than answers.
