A change from the Dinosaur theme, here is another beast a dragon carved out of blocks of ice.
This is also part of the 55th Snow festival at Odori station in Sapporo.
I kept the people in the bottom left hand side because it shows the proprtions of the sculpture and I just love the detail of this master piece. Here it is, I just wanted to share it with you.

Very impressive indeed. It must have taken hours and hours to make this dragon. I like to see all the details on the ice, particularly the wings.
But the shot lacks brightness, I made a simple workshop to correct this. Hope you don't mind. ;)

I can't belive the hard work that has been put in to making all of these sculptures. The detais are realy amazing, right down to teh curves onthe horns. I would have loved to see this scupture by the base of a mountain. That wouls have been an impressive sight. Thebackground is a bit distracting, or let say, not as impressive as the sculpture. But hte shot is very well made made. It is a very nice close up. It would be intresting to know how big it was. Mabye i'll see that if i look closer on your other pictures. Thanks for sharing
