Photographer’s Note
This is taken in rikugien, as this other shot.
Rikugien is the quintessence of traditional japanese garden, everything is so clean and in order. The garden reproduces 88 scenes of famous poems (I haven't noticed any!).

It's a beautiful subject but I must say that I would like a little more "rest" in the composition. The wide-angle lens has made the image very busy with perspective distortion and lines running out of the frame in all direction, the feeling of rest suffers from that.
It might be better to have less things in the frame and concentrate on a detail of the building together with some of the beautifully calm water there.
The natural light is beautiful and soft but there were something strange about the hard dark shadows under the roof and on the rear wall that shows a fillflash at work, if a fill is necessary it would be a good idea to put a diffusor in front of it, but I think the image would be better without.
There are a potential in this shot, but as it is right now, there is just too much happening around.

The early morning light is stunning! I would have tried to take the photo either kneeling or at the water's edge so that I would not be looking down toward the structure, but straight at it. Another good idea would have been to place the structure off center and put a bit more emphasis on that interesting little path.
