Photographer’s Note
Ok, let me start by sayng I know there is a horrible glare in this photo. I am not posting this for its technical merits, but only because I think this is a unique perspective on the famous intersection in Tokyo - I have not seen an aerial shot of Shibuya on TE as of yet.
To explain the circumstances of the photo - my friend who lives in Tokyo took me to this spot - I dont think this is well known unless you live there. The window was just outside the entrance to a restaurant in a highrise. There was a horrible glare on the window that I really could not do anything about. The window and the wall behind it formed a narrow triangle where I barely had any room to maneuver. Thus, this was the only angle, and unless we wanted to pay for a VERY expensive meal inside the restaurant, this was the only spot to take the photo.
Anyway, I am really not a technical person and I'm not sure if anything can be done in a workshop to correct the streaks. But as I said, I'm just including it so you can see a view of Shibuya from up high. I think it's the coolest intersection I have ever seen.

I don't care about the reflections, actually. they do add the context to this photo, IMHO.
never been there so I won't (most probably) appreciate entire value of the perspective, but... if it suffices when I say I like it... :)

I like this one, Tootsie - it's indeed an angle towards this famous intersection that I haven't seen before. Don't worry too much about the reflections - for this sort of urban subject, I don't find them to be too distracting, and all the outside detail of the busy street is shown in good sharpness. I'll be traveling to Japan in March/April, so this is a nice one to build my anticipation, thanks ;)

You did a great job! Very interesting perspective. The look focuses on the zebra crossings which are so well captured so that the reflections on the window are not so bothering anymore. Very good POV! Congratulation!!!

Hi Tootsie,
Yes it's a very good spot! The reflection is not so important, there's nothing to do in PP,may a polarising filter does, clever framing,we can feel the street life, well done,
have a nice week end,

Hi Tootsie.
I agree with you about the glare but It doesn't matter because the POV is lovely. It's great too the people, like ants, in the street. Great.

I love the reflection, it gives and extra urban touch that I like. You have reflected so well the mood of certain streets of Japan. You are right about the point of view. It´s quite unusual but interesting. Take care Tootsie.

Hi Tootsie, nice post! I am very familiar with this building in which you took this shot. Thanks for sharing this unique perspective on the crossing, hopefully you have some shots after the lights turned green to walk? :)

A very cool photograph above Shibuya! I actually think the streaks in the window...or glare...really add to the photo's interest. It's almost as if they are dividing lines for the two sides to cross. It's really a pretty interesting part of the photo. I love the huge add on the building away from us, too...all the elements are very nice.

Hi Tootsie
I liked this pic and the reflection really do not bother me. This is a very unique perspective for this widely photographed place. Did you take any pictures after the lights turn green, it would surely be interesting to see ocean of people crossing the street from this angle.
BTW, what building is this. I want to go up there next time I go to Shibuya.

wow..I wouldn't like to get in the way of those people when the lights go green...Excellent shot Tootsie! Really cool, also all the lines and diagonals crossing your photo in all directions -very artistic. Great work! So you're off to NY instead of SD? wow! Good luck with everything!

Hi Tootsie,
You are right, photography is not always about technical perfection... and many times, 'technically correct' images tell us nothing. Photojournalism is a great example of photos with high impact, but not always 'correct'.
Your photo is a very good testimonial with a different POV, which suffices to make it stand appart.
Best regards,
Carlos
