The silhouette of beautiful Japan.

Beautiful! Perhaps it would also be nice to turn this into sepia or gray scale (since color is very limited in this image, anyway) ?

A great shot with wonderful Japanese architecture. You captured the scene beautifully, with the silhouettes of the people and the structure, against the glistening water. Well done. I did a WS to concentrate on the structure more.

very interesting picture, I like all those contours - of the people and of the structure.. the mountains in the background look really good , great light. very nice, well composed picture.

nice composition! good idea to put the gate in the frame corner.

Very nice composition. Pacefully. I like the Orme workshop too.

Excellent scenery brought to "life" by this straightforward composition. I like the silhouettes as they engaged us took better and closer to the images. The slight brown tint all over the picture also creates a warm feeling. Congratulations.

beautiful scenery, beautiful light. It;s peacefull, but also full of action. Very nice! I agree with chalcone; B&W might be a nice suggestion indeed...

The back-lighting of the gate and of the people makes this an appealing and interesting picture. I like the subtle colours and prefer this to B&W. I have done a WS with a different emphasis to Orme's WS.

Quite spectacular those shadows of people and structure on the beach. I like to see all those people all over the picture, like ants working as well as the soft blue and brown of the mountains in the background and beach.

Superbe photo, bien réussie, bravo. J'aime beaucoup.
Magnificent photo, made a success well, bravo. I like very much.

There are many many interesting points in your shots, those enhanced with a beautiful reflected light.

The problem might be here the profusion of interesting parts and the fact they are not tied togather at this specific moment.

I believe you shot either too soon or too late, the whole image and the relationships between the characters are forming but it is still a bit chaotic. I would like for instance that the wonderful umbrella group, which is undoubtely one of the strong parts of your pic, to relate to the two people carrying the same object in the background, who also tease my interest.

Maybe your compo would have been improved if you had taken some steps on your left side and waited a bit for the background people.

IMHO, color is a good choice, the mild blues in the far ground landscape are wonderful.

Nice calm atmosphere, very good reflections in the water, nice tones, good mountain mist scape and temple over the water.

Very nice picture, i took one similar, please check it out but different time.

Goood work

Attractive complex scene. I like how the different groups, and their reflections, are well separated. I agree with martin's WS - it brings the composition together. Your lens was struggling with the high contrast objects - it's left orange and blue fringes on their near and far from centre edges. Sharpening may have accentuated this.

I think you captured the real atmosphere of life in Japan. For me as Japanese, this scene is just a moment of one usual day. However it reminds me the memories of my childhood and hometown. Gives me very warm feeling. I like it very much!

Soft backlighting and clear shilouettes amke it a good beach photo. The distinctly Japanese arch standing along on the beach makes it a great TE photo. Lovely shot, I'm curious as to what the arch is for.

Just great. No comments. Congratulations.

specatcular!
the only problem. is that you cannot notice the nice orange colour of the gate.

Excelent picture. The scenery itself deserves attention but it is noteworthy it has been composed and captured properly. Te layers/grounds are superbly laid one over the other, the silhouettes are in interesting positions and, last but not least, the shot was made against the Sun and still maintains great colour/detail. Envy you so much. Tom

Wonderfully busy, but satidfyingly balanced, composition... great shot.

Nice treatment of light and lovely composition. Did you use any kind of filter to create this smooth and dark atmosphere? Regards.

Ah oui, c'est beau...

Lovely mesmeric shot, Robin. Beautiful control over twilight colors and reflections. I like the contrast in size between the "stick people" and the giant Torii in the water. Superb stuff. well seen, Francis (also covering Japan but less romantically I suspect...)

Hello Robin
Very interesting shot of the Tori, but all in all the photo seems to have too much light, it looses a lot of colour.
The strong light give s a very nice "anonymous" look to everything and everybody, sort of makes you wonder who are these people?
POV seems good, you get a very good feeling of the low tide and the visible height of the Tori gives a good impression on how high the water can rise.
Thank you for sharing.
