Photographer’s Note

This is a mountain top view of the village of Shirakawago in Gifu prefecture, where peoples' lives have essentially been unchanged for centuries. These A-frame style homes are one of Japan's thirteen world heritage sites, and looks like desert from this distance. A single house holds up to 30 extended family members.

Never seen anything like that...
Is it a real landsacape or a small model (I suspect the latter because of the light).

Beauty shot, looks like paint in children-book. Nice picture great POV. There are interesting light-stamps, these give mystic atmosphere to the photo. Nice job, TFS.

I like this one better than the other one I've mark...well I think the way you change cadrage (how do you say in english???) is better to let the look focus on the village! My english is a mess, sorry!

Again, a beautiful fairy tale landscape. I'd try to cut the sky, which is so dark and does not provide any information at all, and create a panoramic composition. Regards.

The lighting gives this scene a model like quiality. It looks like a town in miniature from this vantage point. Beautifully exposed with great clarity. Well done.

simply beautiful, as in a children dream. Thank you. Composition, light. Perfection. Back mountain perhaps slightly too dark, but it is a globally close to heaven picture.

my eyes seem to deceive me!is this really true? the village looks as if made of clay! fantastic sharpness and whole image. by the way, its really interesting that the air should be so transparent in the mountains to make such a clear capture!
