Photographer's Note

This photograph is taken at Soga Station which is the transfer station, as I go to Mobara Station in Sotobō Line from Keiyo Line. Three routes of Sotobō Line, Uchibō Line, and Keiyō Line of the route of JR East Japan are extended into this station. The distance from this station to Tokyo Station are 43 km. For the reason, the commuters and students who go to the metropolitan area or the outskirts of Chiba are using this station. On the other hand, this area is a town which a big iron mill is located in local businesses, and has the special feature of a company town. This photograph is taken the spectacle in which the train of Uchibō Line going towards Kisarazu drection takes down passengers, and goes to the next station. After the war, the motorization progressed under governmental industrial policy, and the automotive society was established in Japan. On the other hand, district routes which do not turn a profit by privatization and divisionpartition of JR were abolished or reduced. Now, the routes turning a profit may be only a transportation network of the metropolitan area or a metropolis, and Shinkansen. It is the same as today's situation in which residents go shopping to the supermarket in the suburbs by car, and the local store is on the decline. I can see distortion in which Japanese society has pursued only economic effectuation after the war in here. The train went past, and I saw the signboard of private residential home at the side opposite to a platform. It is the person-oriented advertisement which hope to move into home in this suburban city.
