Harajuku is an area in Tokyo where young people gather with friends. Its a place to be seen. Sunday afternoon brings many girls together along with local photographers trying their skills.

Isn't it Harajuku?I liked the way you centered the girl and the whole composition.
the frames could use a bit of a change though.

Wow! am I happy that I didn't have my kids in Japan.
But I find this one to the best Harajuku girl pic that was posted on TE.
I would have called the pic "Funny girl or Sunny girl".
Hope her life is as warm and happy as she demonstrate it with this sunshite hairdo.

This is a nice model/portrait
The tight crop gives this portrait an energetic look
Well seen and captured

Hi Elaine, lovely portrait of the Harajuku punkgirl. I like the way she twists her head, but also how the dark lines twsist with it, as if het skin is very tight, and because of the twisting, gets very many wrinkles.

Great picture, love the abscent look. I'm always hoping that I can take at least a few shots where they haven't noticed me. Afterwards I'll stand in front of them and take a few extra. With this hair this is the best way to photograph her, chin up gives her control over..... well anything.
Thanks for sharing.

Very interesting composition, she is like a postmodern statue of liberty. I really like the way she is looking towards oblivion. Well seen. Daniel

Hi Elaine, I like it because her hair reminds me to the sun shining with full intensity. A great capture. Nice colours and composition. A good portrait.

Love the hair, and the girl's candid expression. I like how, with her head slightly tilted back, she exposes the lines on her neck, which echo the lines of her hairstyle and complete the "rising sun" symbol of Japan.
Sadly it seems from my visit last weekend that Harajuku is not the photographer's playground it may once have been. But I'm hoping for more co-operative youths next weekend!
