Hibuse-Festival #1, a photo from Iwate, Tohoku

Photographer's Note

I have just come back from new shoting trip from North Area. This was very unique and also so cute one. Accroding to the tourist information officer, once upon a time, this area had very frequently big fires. So the governer ordred the citizen to start this unique festival in order to prevent form another fire occur. Since then the fire had seldom occurred. The main charcteristics of this festival is this festival flaot where around 30 cutes girls take and play the small drum. Day-time is also cute but evening is very fantastic too. I will continue this new sereies for a while.

Very nice captured of beautiful cute girls dressed traditional adorned red-white japan colors in a fantastic festival. Excellent light management to get perfect sharpness, fine clarity and lovely saturated colors.

I'm sure your evening pictures from this unique festival will be fine and exciting because you know how to use the light so well and make the colours, persons and atmosphere come out in a very effective way, as we've seen from your previous series. This first picture is wonderful, the colourful costumes and decoration are presented with superb clarity in the dark ambience. The lighting is just right, capturing the intensity of the colours and the artificial lights without missing clarity. I also like very much the way the gentleman on the left is lit. The colours are so beautiful. Well done and thank you!

This is a very nice image of this festival where these cute little girls are dressed in traditional costumes.I love those different colors of the costume. The area they are sitting is well lit and the black background makes a nice contrast. The colors and sharpness are superb.
