A cherry tree in full bloom, a photo from Tokyo, Kanto

Photographer's Note

This photograph was taken in Kitanomaru park contiguous to the Imperial Palace. In Tokyo, now is the time of full bloom of a cherry tree. Many spectators were coming in spite of early morning. Along the route, many cameramen were taking the photograph of the cherry tree which stands in a row on the bank of moat. In one corner of the moat, many boats were at anchor. Spectators will row a boat and enjoy a cherry tree, if it becomes business hours. Moreover, there was an entrance ceremony of a university in Nippon Budokan Hall on that day. So, april is a season of entrance of a school.

What a breathtaking view you have captured Mikio! I love the cherry trees and the beautiful blue sky. A wonderful POV and a great DOF. I would have loved to sit there and have a cup of tea looking at te vista. Have a good Easter.

I think this image is perfectly framed in pano format it is for the simple reason you have created your vision of this place on this day. As for the cherry blossom, it makes the picture for me very well filling both sides of the frame very well as good focal of interest, and we have good fg in the calm water and rows of tiny boats complementing the overall impression. Lovely soothing color, clarity and fine contrast under that clean blue sky to boost this image to its potential. Well worth recording, Congrats

very nice the panoramic format with the blossom cherry trees in the park to create this great eyes caching view.I like the calmly of the place,the created depth as the beauty with the full flowers of the trees.Excellent presentation.
