Enburi festival #1, a photo from Aomori, Tohoku

Photographer's Note

I will introduce another famous winter festival in north area (this area was also damaged by the past big earthquake). The name of this festival is "Enburi". This fetstival has 800 years history and to hope Spring coming soonest and rich harvest this year. Men take the special unique hat like a horse head and children perform the charming dance. This festival is held on 17-19 Feb every year, this year this term falls on the weekend, so I did observe fortunately. I will up several shots among so much stocks(40GBs).

Very nice and intersesting colorful, folcloric clothes ,caps,belts and intruments of sympathetic young men. These clothes look like costumes of old ottoman empire mehteran army uniforms in our country .

Whatever the ritual significance of this festival the participants seem to enjoy themselves. Their clothes are, as ususal, quite spectacular and you have captured these three men in a photo of very good quality.
