Photographer's Note
This is another odd festival, "Kurama Hi("fire") festival. This is nominated as the three oddest festival held in Kyoto. Evening of each 22 Oct, the village people living around Kurama Temple in Kyoto bring torch(from small by children to big by adult) an d make procession to Kurama Temple. Unfortunately we had a heavy rain at that night. Even thought the participants get wet, this festival continued on schedule. In fact I saw this festival with my dear Malgorzata (emka) but we could not see almost nothing as so much crowd. This year I have gotten the special permission via a special route and could get good shutter chance.
To Malgo : I get the revenge !

Hello Takero, Well you had an excellent POV for this shot. Looks like the group is running towards your camera. Delightful looking costumes and the torches, obviously, add to the glamour of this scene. Well composed and presented. Great Job. Regards, Roger

Hi Takero,
Kurama again! Thanks for this photo that brings memories of great day. We saw a lot last year and it was such a fun. Pity because of the rain in Kyoto in these days. Was the special permission expensive? Wonderful shot, nice kids and the man in his sexy loincloth.
Warm regrads

Hi Takero
You've got a great gallery of the festival collection with variety of functions there. You've captured it quite right though there seems to be low light. The moment is great as it seems to be father guiding his children. Nice capture. Have a great time,
