This is the last of three photos from Shikisai No Oka (Hill of Seasonal Colour) Farm in Hokkaido. If you look at photos one, two and three in that order you'll see the scene that I saw looking left, right then centre. In this shot I'm about 50 metres closer to the line of trees seen in shot two.
There is actually a beautiful mountain range behind those clouds, one of which constantly plumes volcanic steam. I think the sky works well for this shot, but someday I'd like to return on a clear day and get the mountains in.

This is excellent Martin. You have made very good use of an interesting vantage point to show the colors and the rolling hills. For me, what I think is even better is how you have dealt with the sky. Although it is cloudy and overcast, you still have been able to capture enough detail and contrast so that it adds to, not detracts from the photo. That is not easy, and I am guessing you bracketed a few shots to find the exact exposure. It has worked well if that is the case. If you got this in one shot, all the better. Nice work.

Just reviewed the series and I find this one the best of the bunch. Which means very good. what makes it stand out as a flowerfield pic is particular the angle you shot the hills on allowing the shape of the hills to break the lines of the flowers. Also as Darren mentions the addition of the sky really contributes to teh scene. Good stuff!

For me, you've saved the best till last, dramatic sky, and the flower fields are an absolute riot of colour, top marks...

Rich and beautiful picture. The way colors are displayed in smooth curves is very appealing. Very nice succession of curves in the background too. All together, it's a very harmonious shot. Will have a look to the two others.

The best! All in curves and smoothness but with nice diagonal lines, contrasting colors and well balanced composition.

Great pic, I realy like the vivid colors in the pictures. The strips of flower cutting diagonally across the picture. All the other elements are very well balanced, the clods add a great atmosphear to the photo. I really like it

I think it's a bit of a pity of that coloured roof on the left because it disturbed the image of "smooth rolling fields". (I'm not sure it's right English but I'm sure you will understand)
But anyway... I certainly will repeat Darren's words: "This is excellent Martin"!

Great scene. I love your composition and the colour is just fabulous in that flat lighting. Well done.

What a symmetry! Amazing line of Blue, Red, White, Green and Orange in the end.
Even without the Mountain, the view of this colourful carpet you've here is amazing.
Excellent DOF and details...
